Sarah Galvao Joins $100K Women’s Bracket At CJI 2

The lineup for the highly anticipated four-woman tournament at Craig Jones Invitational 2 (CJI 2) is now complete – with rising star Sarah Galvao officially stepping into the bracket.

Galvao, the daughter of legendary BJJ figures Andre and Angelica Galvao, enters the biggest opportunity of her young career, eyeing the largest prize in women’s grappling history: a $100,000 winner-takes-all payout.

She joins an elite roster that already includes reigning ADCC double gold medalist Adele Fornarino, teen phenom Helena Crevar, and 65kg ADCC world champion Ana Carolina Vieira.
Each of these women is considered among the top pound-for-pound athletes in the sport, making this bracket one of the most stacked women’s divisions ever assembled.

However, Galvao is still just shy of 20 years old and only weeks into her black belt journey, but she’s already built a name for herself.
She dominated the juvenile and colored belt divisions, winning IBJJF world titles at both purple and brown belt and earning the #1 ranking at every belt level along the way.

More recently, Galvao has started testing herself in the professional no-gi scene.
In March, she made her UFC Fight Pass Invitational debut in a thrilling match against black belt no-gi world champion Cassia Moura – losing by decision but showing she belongs at the elite level.

Now, she’ll face the toughest challenge of her career at CJI 2, with a six-figure prize and global recognition on the line.
