Ronda Rousey delivered a phenomenal performance at MVP MMA 1 on May 16, finishing Gina Carano in just 17 seconds!
Rousey, who built her legacy on fast armbar submissions during her UFC title reign, wasted no time reasserting her style.
She timed a double leg takedown perfectly as Carano threw her first strike, immediately advancing to mount and taking control of the position.
From there, Rousey used strikes to create an opening before quickly transitioning into her trademark armbar, securing the finish less than half a minute into the fight.

While the performance was dominant, it wasn’t even the fastest of her career.
Rousey previously knocked out Alexis Davis in 16 seconds back in 2014, and submitted Cat Zingano in just 14 seconds the following year.
The event featured several other notable performances as well. Francis Ngannou scored a first-round knockout victory over Philipe Lins, continuing his return run.
In another major bout, Mike Perry earned a statement win over Nate Diaz, with Diaz’s corner stopping the fight before the third round after a back-and-forth battle.
