Romulo Barral Promoted To 5th Degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu legend Romulo Barral has just been promoted to the rank of a 5th degree black belt!
The promotion came from none other than Vinicius “Draculino” Magalhaes, the same coach who awarded Barral his original black belt 19 years ago.

Barral’s BJJ journey began at the age of 15 when he started training at Gracie Barra Belo Horizonte under coaches Magalhaes and Cristiano Lazzarini.
He quickly rose through the ranks, and after receiving his black belt, it only took a few months for him to win his first major tournament.

Throughout his career, Barral has accomplished more than most athletes dream of – including multiple IBJJF World Championship titles and an ADCC crown.
He also briefly ventured into MMA, winning both of his fights by submission.

Announcing his promotion to 5th degree black belt, Barral took to Instagram to share the news and expressed his gratitude:

5th degree black belt.
19 years as a black belt, always looking for evolution.

Thank you everyone for this special moment. Thank you Vinicius “Draculino” Magalhaes for all your effort to be present and graduate me on this special day.
