Paige VanZant RNC’s Soldier And Puts Him To Sleep

Paige VanZant RNC’s Soldier And Puts Him To Sleep

There are no tough guys when it comes to the Rear Naked Choke in Jiu-Jitsu. You can toughen out an Armbar, a Straight Ankle Lock, heck even a Heel Hook and Kimura if the adrenaline is running high… But there’s no way that you can just “push through” the RNC. If you don’t tap out, you’re going to sleep.
The Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship athlete Paige VanZant displayed the full power of this submission on an American soldier in what appears to be some sort of a gathering of soldiers. She explains what will happen to the crowd and applies the RNC – choking out the soldier and putting him to sleep for a few minutes… Before Max Holloway props him back up!

HOW TO DO THE REAR NAKED CHOKE?

Executing the perfect Rear Naked Choke isn’t as easy as Paige VanZant makes it seem, though. There are quite a lot of aspects that you need to get right if you want to make it work at the highest of competitions.
Here’s a simple thing that a lot of (beginner) BJJ athletes get wrong, for example. They think that just “squeezing” their arms will guarantee the choke – but this isn’t true. Instead, you’ve also got to retract your scapula muscles back together while narrowing the space between your elbow and the opponent’s neck.
