ONE Championship: Match Between Tye Ruotolo & Nicholas Meregali Is In The Making

Tye Ruotolo put on a show at the recent ONE Fight Night 10 event, in which he beat Reinier de Ridder via unanimous decision.

After the match, he took the chance to call out none other than Nicholas Meregali – making it obvious that he wants to face him as soon as possible:

I wanna keep taking out the big guys. I know that he trained with DDS (Danaher Death Squad), you know (Nicholas) Meregali and all those type of guys.

So I wanna work my way up the ladder you know, Meregali’s next.
He’s a bit bigger than Reinier even but I want his head, so Meregali’s next.

The match would, most certainly, be a super entertaining one for BJJ fans around the globe, as both athletes play a very open and attacking game.

And, well, there’s a high likelihood that the match will happen sometime soon!

Chatri Sityodtong, ONE Championship’s CEO, claimed that the bout is already in the making
And that Meregali accepted the challenge:

Definitely, and [Nicholas] Meregali has accepted already so it’s been something we’ve been planning.
Obviously, he’s red-hot. One of the best grapplers in the world.
