Olympic freestyle wrestling champion Zaurbek Sidakov has revealed that Real American Freestyle (RAF) is offering him significantly higher pay than what he currently earns competing in the Professional Wrestling League (PWL).
During a recent podcast appearance, Sidakov stated that RAF’s financial offer is several times higher than the pay structure currently available in PWL:
Right now, RAF is offering me three to four times more than PWL.
Sidakov explained that his current involvement with PWL was arranged before the RAF opportunity appeared.
He had already agreed to compete in a match scheduled for March 27 against a Japanese opponent:
I signed for one match for now. That was the March 27 match with the Japanese wrestler.
We had agreed on that match earlier.
He also noted that discussions with PWL about future matches and possible pay increases are ongoing:
I spoke with them about it and he said, let’s compete here first, and then we’ll talk further and raise the price.
When the interviewer suggested that PWL fighters might earn around $50,000 per match with a $30,000 bonus for a victory, Sidakov quickly rejected the estimate:
No, no, no.
When asked whether those figures were closer to what RAF was offering, Sidakov indicated that the promotion’s numbers were even higher:
More.
Based on the discussion, Sidakov suggested that RAF’s offer could reach approximately $80,000 per appearance, placing it among the most lucrative payouts currently available in freestyle wrestling.
The figure also aligns with reports regarding potential deals being discussed with fellow Russian wrestling star Abdulrashid Sadulaev.
According to industry sources, Sadulaev’s prospective RAF contract could include a six-figure appearance fee along with an additional six-figure win bonus.
