Regarded as one of the top jiu jitsu and MMA academies in the world, Nova União has busted into MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) in the later years through fighters like Renan “Barão”, José Aldo, Jussier “Formiga” and many others. The team led by Wendell Alexander and André Pederneiras has been at the forefront of jiu jitsu and was regarded as one of the top 3 BJJ academies in the world at the turn of the millennium, with 2 team world titles by 2002. Nova Uniao’s creator has just announced on his Facebook page that Nova Uniao now has a new policy regarding affiliation and use of their brand name.

 

In 1995 in Rio de Janeiro , I , André Pederneiras and Wendell Alexander , created the Nova Uniao since its inception has always been renowned as a trainer of talent in Jiu – Jitsu , such as : Vitor ‘ Shaolin ‘ Ribeiro , Gustavo Dantas , Leonardo Santos , Rodrigo Feijao , Joao Roque , Rafael Carino , André Marola , Andre Bastos , Jair Lourenço , Guilherme Santos , among many others .

Today , Nova Uniao also collects titles and talents in MMA (Mixed Martial Arts ) . We fight in the most successful organizations in major MMA world . 2 UFC belts , a belt at Bellator a champion TUF among other titles . In addition, we are considered by the specialized media as the world leader in MMA , with its name and its leaders always circulating among the best teams and the best coaches in the world .

In order to follow the rapid growth of the team and make the brand even stronger ,we have to spend a moment to recast . With that starting from today’s date no academy , teacher , trainer , athlete or even branches  can use the brand Nova Uniao.

In other words , with the exception of André Pederneiras Wendell Alexander, nobody else will have the authorization to use the trademark in any league, camp , seminars , gym shirt, patch , hats , stickers etc. .
