Nick Rodriguez Reveals If He Truly Hates Gordon Ryan: “As Far As Drama…”

Nick Rodriguez and Gordon Ryan have had beef for quite some time.
But does Rodriguez really hate one of his toughest opponents?

Brandon Schaub asked him that same exact question in a recent podcast episode:

The rivalry you guys have is exactly what Jiu-Jitsu needs.

So, it’s like – as much as you guys hate each other, whatever, dude I’m sure at the end of the day it’s all good.
And what you guys have been doing brings people to the sport.

Then, Rodriguez revealed more about his stance on the drama and his “hatred” for Ryan:

No, I don’t hate him. I don’t hate anybody really, I don’t live my life like that.
But, as far as the drama [is concerned]…

We were all pretty much teammates three years ago. And then the team separated – we go to ADCC, have some success, and Gordon Leg Locks me in the finals.

And then we go to UFC Fight Pass and Gordon’s opponent pulls out.
I step in and then I break his foot in a similar leg entanglament. It was a very close match and he won in over time…

Additionally, on the question of “why is Gordon so great”, Rodriguez had an unequivocal answer:

It’s because he’s abusing steroids.
It’s public knowledge.
