Nicholas Meregali Says He Was Sued 4 Times By Mica Galvao: “I’d Never Compete With Him”

Nicholas Meregali has revealed that ongoing legal disputes with Mica Galvao have effectively ruled out any possibility of the two facing each other in competition.

Speaking during an appearance on MMA Hoje, Meregali confirmed that Galvao filed multiple lawsuits against him following public comments accusing the young Brazilian star of using performance-enhancing drugs.

When asked whether a future match between them could happen, Meregali was definitive in his response:

100% unfeasible. There is no money in the world.
The guy sued me four times. I would never accept to compete with him, and that’s it.

According to Meregali, the situation involves both civil and criminal cases stemming from statements he made publicly.
The tension between the two escalated after Meregali made accusations regarding PED use, which quickly sparked controversy within the Jiu-Jitsu community.

The conflict also ties into earlier remarks Meregali made surrounding a controversial disqualification involving Kaynan Duarte at a major event where Galvao competed.
At the time, Meregali pushed back against criticism directed at Duarte:

People are calling him a cheater…
If Kaynan wanted to break Mica’s knee in the position he would have broken it.

He later intensified the situation by directly accusing Galvao of using banned substances, claiming that certain methods were used to conceal PED use.
His comments also extended to Galvao’s father and coach, Melqui Galvao, further escalating tensions.

Those statements ultimately led to legal action, which Meregali says has completely closed the door on any competitive matchup between the two athletes:

I would never accept to compete with him.
