Nicholas Meregali appears to be well on his way to recovery, after a complex shoulder surgery.

Defeated in an ADCC 2024 match by Michael Pixley, a wrestler and purple belt in Jiu-Jitsu, Meregali also suffered a serious shoulder injury.
A few days later, he went for surgery – which was a success:

The shoulder and biceps reconstruction surgery was a success.
My doctor opted for Latarjet surgery to correct the shoulder injury and we had to reinsert the biceps into the joint.

I am at peace and confident that this experience will add a lot to my life and for that I am happy, even in the face of the chaos that the situation seems to be.

And, well, he is already working on getting back to the mats!
Here is what he had to share in a recent social media update (translated from Portuguese):

It’s been 13 days since my surgery and though the progress seems almost insignificant.

I am very proud of myself for staying strong and optimistic for the picture I am facing.
