Nate Diaz and Mike Perry are set to make their return to professional MMA competition, as the two fan favorites prepare to face off on an upcoming event promoted by Most Valuable Promotions and distributed on Netflix.
The promotion, founded by Jake Paul, initially focused on boxing events but has rapidly expanded into building full fight cards featuring high-profile names across combat sports.
Now stepping into the MMA space, the organization has assembled one of its most ambitious lineups yet.
Alongside Diaz vs. Perry, the card is expected to feature several major attractions, including Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano and the long-awaited return of Francis Ngannou following his recent stint in boxing.
The matchup between Diaz and Perry brings together two well-known strikers with very different approaches inside the cage.
Diaz built his career on relentless volume, using constant pressure and cardio to wear opponents down over time.
While primarily known for his boxing, he also possesses elite Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, which has historically discouraged opponents from taking the fight to the ground.
Perry, on the other hand, established himself as a knockout-focused fighter who thrives in close-range exchanges.
His game has always centered around keeping the fight standing, relying on toughness and takedown defense to avoid grappling situations.
Both fighters stepped away from traditional MMA competition in recent years to pursue other combat sports opportunities.
Diaz transitioned into boxing, where he has gone 1-1 since leaving the UFC in 2022.
Perry found success in bare-knuckle boxing after parting ways with the UFC in 2021, building a reputation as one of the sport’s most exciting competitors.
