MMA Veteran Allegedly K*lls Man To Avenge Son’s Death

Former mixed martial artist Lumumba Sayers – once known for his powerful performances in the ring and for sharing the stage with UFC names like Derek Brunson – now faces a troubling chapter far removed from his fighting career…
As he was arrested due to murder allegations.

The incident reportedly occurred during a children’s birthday party in Commerce City, Colorado.
Around 5 PM on Saturday, Sayers allegedly approached 28-year-old Malcolm Watson and, in a tragic turn of events, took Watson’s life.

Witnesses suggest that Sayers believed Watson was connected to someone he held responsible for the death of his son in 2023.

Sayers, who last competed in a BKFC Prospect Series event in May 2024, built a reputation in the fighting world with a professional record of 6-5-0.

The Colorado native had also turned his focus towards community service after his retirement.
He was active in his neighborhood, using his platform to denounce gun violence and mentor at-risk youth through his Heavy Hands Heavy Hearts boxing gym.

He is currently being held in Adams County jail on a $1 million bond.
The charges against him include first-degree murder.
