Mikey Musumeci Eyes MMA Debut: “I Want To Go Out There And Scrap”

Mikey Musumeci may be one of the most accomplished submission grapplers in the world – but he’s now setting his sights on a completely new challenge.

Musumeci revealed that he’s actively working toward making his MMA debut before the end of the year:

I mean, CTE definitely sucks…

I’ve just been called a b*tt scooter and like a wimp so long that I just want to go out there and just scrap with someone.

Musumeci confirmed that plans are already in motion:

I might later in the year.
I’ve been working on having an MMA matchup later in the year.

I definitely have to keep learning more wrestling and I’m learning basics of boxing right now.

Still, the process itself is something he’s embracing:

So I’m learning and it’s just fun for me.

I’m excited to challenge myself one more time.
Like, I definitely want to have an MMA matchup by the end of the year.

Alongside his MMA ambitions, Musumeci is also preparing for a high-profile grappling match against Arman Tsarukyan, expected later this year:

I do think that it’s interesting for the spectators.

They look at the match and they’re like: “Oh, Arman’s so much bigger and stronger than me. He’s going to smash me.”
A lot of people actually think that he’ll beat me.

But within the BJJ world, the perspective is different:

The Jiu-Jitsu community itself would say otherwise.
