Mica Galvao Challenges Nicholas Meregali To A Charity Superfight In Brazil

Mica Galvao Challenges Nicholas Meregali To A Charity Superfight In Brazil

Mica Galvao has publicly challenged Nicholas Meregali to a long-awaited superfight – this time with a charitable twist!

Here is what Galvao had to say in a recent social media post aimed at Meregali:

Nothing personal. Just business.
If you don’t fight for money… And neither do I… So let’s give the public what they want to see.

We do this fight in Brazil. In a stadium. With the split.
What’s the value of the fight?

For an NGO. For those who really need it.
The invitation has been made.

The matchup between Galvao and Meregali is one fans have fantasized about for years.

Both are among the sport’s biggest stars, but with Galvao typically competing under 77kg and Meregali in heavyweight divisions, they’ve never crossed paths in competition.
While weight might be a barrier for most, Galvao is pushing to make it happen anyway – and he’s proposing they fight not for profit, but to raise money for those in need.

Plus, the tension between the two isn’t new – both men have traded jabs in interviews and online, but nothing has come of it yet.

Meregali, for his part, has previously shown little interest in facing Galvao.
And right now, the timing couldn’t be worse.

He’s recovering from a serious shoulder injury that’s required multiple surgeries and has kept him sidelined since ADCC 2024.
