In a recent podcast appearance with Joe Rogan, actor and director Mel Gibson shared a surprising and impressive detail about his personal life…
His girlfriend is a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu!
Gibson spoke with admiration about the effort required to achieve this milestone, particularly for women who often face physical challenges when training against larger and stronger opponents.
And he speaks about it in a proud, yet humorous way:
Now my girlfriend does Jiu-Jitsu, and she’s a purple belt. So I’ve learned not to talk back.
Yeah, she’s legit. She’s obsessed with it.
And, you know, as I say, I don’t talk back to her.
Gibson described her Jiu-Jitsu abilities as more than just physical skills:
She’s got a good mind for it. I think it’s like she’s a chess player.
She rolls with big dudes and stuff, and she’s done some exceptional things…
I’ve heard about it.She is pretty good.
