Over the past two years, Marcus Buchecha is the top guy when it comes to Jiu-Jitsu . Double world champion at weight and absolute, the Checkmat black belt will have his first major challenge without the kimono, as it will try to attain the exclusive title of ADCC champion. ADCC starts next Saturday (19) in Beijing, China. Buchecha is already World No Gi and No Gi Pan champion.
Buchecha is touted as one of the title favorites. However, always calm, the black belt rejected any pressure on his shoulders as said in an interview with Tatame:
“This has always been pressure from others, but I prefer not to think about it. I like when I fight in a Jiu-Jitsu championship. I do my Jiu-Jitsu, feel happy, and that’s when I get results. If I feel pressure, I get scared and do perform well.” he said.
About being seen by many as a favorite in ADCC:
“It certainly is an added incentive. Seeing that everybody likes to watch me fight. I am very happy with this confidence from the fans “

The athlete also spoke about his training at AKA, next to the heavyweight champion of the UFC , Cain Velasquez , with Daniel Cormier and Luke Rockhold , also members of the UFC:
“They were great. I was training a lot in AKA with the MMA guys, Wrestling and training Jiu-Jitsu, and I will put in practice what I learned. It was pretty cool, the guys are in really good and taught me a lot, “he said. There are heavy weight fighters at AKA, but they move very well and are fast. Typically, lighter guys are faster, but the guys there are great and it helped me a lot. It was what I was looking for, “added the fighter.
