Marcus “Buchecha” Almeida has been promoted to 4th degree BJJ black belt – by his legendary coach, Leo Vieira!
Buchecha, widely regarded as one of the greatest competitors in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu history, celebrated 14 years as a black belt with this prestigious promotion.
During his career, he has won more IBJJF World Championship gold medals than any other competitor and claimed two ADCC titles.
On top of that, Buchecha has also embarked on a successful MMA career, currently holding a 4-1 professional record – competing exclusively in ONE Championship.
Announcing the news on Instagram, Buchecha shared his excitement and gratitude for the promotion, saying:
4th Black Belt Degree, time flies!
It feels like yesterday when I got my Black Belt in the podium right after winning Brown Belt Worlds in 2010.
It’s been an amazing journey which I am very proud of it and blessed to receive that from the hands of my master Leo Vieira.Thank you every single one who is with me in this journey.
“Don’t count the days, make the days count.”
Buchecha’s promotion marks yet another milestone in an already legendary career, with more success likely still ahead.
