Luke Rockhold Slams BJJ Community: “All St*roids & Leglocks”

Former UFC middleweight champion Luke Rockhold will be facing the 2019 ADCC silver medalist Nick Rodriguez in a grappling superfight at the upcoming Polaris on Nov. 30 event in Newport, Wales. You can book tickets here.

Rockhold is a bjj black belt and a former blue belt world champion in the Gi and is a No Gi purple belt world champion. He regularly trains with BJJ world champion Buchecha.

Rockhold was on the Ariel Helwani where he talked about his MMA career and commented about the current state of BJJ. He didn’t have nice words to say..

I heard you say that the Jiu-Jitsu guys were a bit “suspect”. What do you mean by that?

“St*roids and leg locks. Is that what they do these days?”

“I think there’s a lot of butt scooting. It turns people off. I’m also not a fan of leglocks. I like earning your takedowns. It shows dominance.”
