The World Pro will be held in Abu Dhabi this weekend. Lucas Lepri, the black belt from Alliance, assured that his training for competition began earlier this year:
“The preparation is being made from the beginning of the year, focusing on the major competitions such as Pan, Abu Dhabi and World. I’m doing an intensive training with my fitness trainer Kevin Paretti and training Jiu-Jitsu with my students in Atlanta with Master Jacare “he said.
The Abu Dhabi Pro also has the prize money, which a rare ocurence in Jiu-Jitsu. The bonus is a further motivation for Lepri:
“Competing is the thing I most love to do, and know that has a prize money is even better. I have no plans for the money yet, first I want to fight well and win. Then I can make plans with the money (laughs). “
With the growing competition in the UAE and increasingly attracting fighters, the athlete from Alliance believes that one day it will reach the same level as the Worlds from the United States.
“I think the championship Abu Dhabi has far to go, but the organization’s initiative to make the Jiu-Jitsu a professional sport is great. IBJJF is older and consequently more organized but I think over the years the World Professional can indeed reach a size that IBJJF has today. “
Sloth Jiu-Jitsu: you can be slow and unathletic and still kick butt in Jiu-Jitsu.
