Leandro Lo’s Mother Says His Image Is Being Misused: “He Was Never About Money”

Leandro Lo’s mother, Fatima Lo, has publicly spoken out about the unauthorized use of her son’s image and the NS Brotherhood name.

Lo was one of the most dominant Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitors of his generation, securing eight IBJJF World Championships across four weight divisions, including the absolute.
His legacy in the sport was tragically cut short when he was murdered in 2022, at the age of 33.

Beyond his achievements on the mats, Lo left a lasting impact through the creation of the NS Brotherhood team.
Originally a competitor under PSLPB and Cicero Costha, Lo branched out in 2015 to establish his own team alongside several top-level grapplers.

However, in a heartbreaking revelation, Fatima Lo has shared that the NS Brotherhood name is now being used without the family’s consent, along with images of Leandro himself.

Here is what she had to share in a recent social media post:

Brotherhood founded by Leandro Lo in 2015, a name that Leandro has always lived up to Brotherhood and fought all these years for this team, all with lots of love, affection and blood.
He died with that name tattooed on his chest.

He was never about money and neither were we.

Now those who never fought for this team, never represented, had not even trained with him for years, filed a patent and opened the company NS Brotherhood and always exploiting Leandro’s image.

Let’s fight against this, in addition to fighting for justice, we count on the help of you who love Leandro.
Thanks.
