Latvia’s Vladislavs Čerņavskis, 3x World Sambo Champ To Compete in Brazilian Superfight Grappling Event

A multiple world Sambo champion that is also a BJJ black belt, Vladislavs Čerņavskis (Check out our interview with him)  from Latvia ( Giudici team Latvia ) will have a superfight at ‘Rematch Grappling‘,  a new Brazilian organization that is coming up with a first event in Septemeber 20. The concept is that it will reproduce in grappling superfights, all the finals that Brazil had in world cup football finals!

Brazil has reached seven times the final of a World Cup, and this will be the number of matches involving Brazilian fighters and the countries that made the final (1950 – Brazil vs. Uruguay; 1958 – Brazil vs Sweden; 1962 – Brazil x Czechoslovakia, 1970 – Brazil vs Italy, 1994 – Brazil vs Italy, 1998 – Brazil vs France, 2002 – Brazil vs Germany).

The first match announced for Rematch Grappling, which is scheduled for September 20 in Sao Paulo, will be between the luta livre black belt Alexandre Pequeno Nogueira, former Shooto champion, and the German Daniel Ackerman, which is a -black belt in Jiu-Jitsu, champion of the event “Ultimate Grappling Challenge” champion of ADCC Trials in Switzerland and is undefeated in MMA after three matches.

The event will consist of only no gi matches, which will last six minutes. Because grappling combines various forms of  wrestling in a single rule, icons of various arts like Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, Luta Livre, Wrestling, and MMA will participate.

There will be a different set of rules from the ADCC. A winner will declared if a perfect takedown is realized and a fighter is pinned for 8 seconds (shoulder blades on the floor). There will be only two types of scores: 1 point for simple takedown and 1 point for sweep or inversion. In case of a tie, the judges will decide who will be declared the winner.

So far these are the match ups:
