Khabib Nurmagomedov & Mike Tyson Talk Mental Toughness, Conor McGregor, Street Fights & More

One of the best conversations in the world just happened! Khabib Nurmagomedov was a guest of Mike Tyson’s “Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson” podcast, where they – alongside with Henry Cejudo as a co-host – spoke about many interesting topics.

Khabib touched upon, among other things, the importance of listening to advice and staying clear in your head when you’re at the pinnacle of success. The cutting of weight in preparation for fights and how much he disliked doing that; as well as about not wanting to hurt Justin Gaethje in front of his parents at UFC 254 and achieving his goal of being #1 that day – but without his father.
The two touched upon Conor McGregor as well. Khabib emphasized that the reason why McGregor acts in the behave he does is because he’s not surrounded by the people who’ve been there for him since the beginning. Not with the people who truly want the best for him, but those who want a “slice of the pie”.

Khabib also explained his decision not to take $100 million from Dana White to fight Floyd Mayweather; and told Henry Cejudo that he considers him one step ahead in sports’ success because of the Olympic gold medal.
He elaborated on the love he feels for his mother. “There’s nothing like a mom in the world”, Khabib said, “I would do anything for my mother.”
