Jozef Chen Promoted To BJJ Black Belt At B-Team Jiu-Jitsu

Jozef Chen has just been promoted to BJJ black belt at B-Team Jiu-Jitsu!

Only 20 years old, Chen is a remarkably young competitor – but he has also only been training for a little over five years.
He first made waves with strong performances at ADCC Trials as a 17-year-old, just a few years into his training.

Chen’s true breakthrough, however, came in 2023 when he won the under 77kg division at the ADCC European, Middle-Eastern, and African Trials.
His path to victory was particularly impressive, as he defeated three ADCC veterans in a single day.

That performance solidified his status as a top-tier competitor and led to high-profile matches across the biggest grappling promotions, including Polaris, Who’s Number One, and ONE Championship.

Although he earned a spot at ADCC 2024, fans never got to see him compete there because he chose to take a different path.
As Chen opted to compete in the inaugural Craig Jones Invitational instead.

He went 1-1 in the under 80kg division, delivering a strong performance in what was one of the toughest tournament brackets in BJJ history.
Most recently, he represented Team Europe at Polaris 31, contributing to the team’s qualification for the Polaris Squads Intercontinental Championship 2025.

The news about the black belt promotion were shared via social media:
