Joe Rogan Warns Khamzat Chimaev About Competing At RAF: “Here Is My Fear…”

Joe Rogan recently expressed concerns about Khamzat Chimaev competing again so soon after his loss at UFC 328.

Chimaev suffered the first defeat of his career in a split decision loss to Sean Strickland in a five-round main event.
After a strong opening round, his pace slowed, but the fight remained competitive throughout.

Despite the setback, Chimaev is already scheduled to compete at RAF 10 in a freestyle wrestling match against Dillon Danis.
But Rogan questioned whether returning to competition so quickly is the right move:

I don’t know if he [should be] interested in doing that.

He pointed to the unpredictability and injury risk involved in grappling events:

Here is my fear. There was a recent event that was a very weird event…
Kicks to the legs, punches to the body, and Jiu-Jitsu. It was weird.

Rogan described how quickly things can go wrong in these situations:

The guy is trying to avoid the takedown, and he catches his knee in a weird way, and it blows out.

So that could happen to f*cking anybody. Wrestlers blow their knees out all the time.
It’s just a part of the craziness of explosive movement.

His concerns are amplified by the physical toll Chimaev endured leading into UFC 328, including a significant weight cut that reportedly left him in a depleted state.
