Joe Rogan has probably tried just about every supplement known to mankind – but one pre-workout experience left him sidelined mid-roll & questioning whether he’d made a huge mistake.
Speaking with Derek from More Plates More Dates on an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan revealed that taking Rip Fuel before Jiu-Jitsu turned into a terrifying moment:
I took Rip Fuel once for Jiu-Jitsu, right before Jiu-Jitsu, and I had to stop in the middle of the class.
His heart rate skyrocketed instantly, forcing him off the mats:
I was like, I got to sit down. I pulled over to the side.
I’m like: “Guys, my f*cking heart is beating out of my chest.”
And it didn’t take long for the exhaustion to hit him like a truck:
Right away, like we start rolling, I was like: “God, I’m f*cking exhausted. My heart’s beating out of my chest’.
Derek pointed out that pre-workouts built for heavy lifting aren’t meant for cardio-intense grappling like BJJ, where elevated heart rate can quickly turn dangerous.
Rogan says lesson learned:
I knew I f*cked up.
I did it once and I never did it again.
