The UFC commentator, BJJ black belt, comedian and podcast host Joe Rogan revealed on his latest podcast (With Demetrious ‘Mighty Mouse’ Johnson as main guest) that his UFC contract will be ending in August, and that are chances that he might leave his job as commentator.
Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson:
“How long do you see yourself commentating for the UFC?”
Rogan answered:
“I don’t know. I don’t know. My contract’s up in August. I might leave in August. It’s possible. I like doing shit that scares me. I like taking chances and I like walking away from things.”
I’m not a big fan of doing the same shit over and over again.”
“I love it, it’s not that I don’t love it… I just like doing a lot of other shit, too.”
Rogan began working for the UFC in 1997, making his debut interviewing fighters at UFC 12: Judgement Day in Dothan, Alabama, before eventually becoming a color commentator for the promotion. He has won the Wrestling Observer Newsletter award for Best Television Announcer on two occasions. He was also named “MMA Personality of the Year” three times by the World MMA Awards.
