Jean Silva and Bryce Mitchell are set to continue one of the more unusual rivalries in recent UFC memory – this time on the grappling mats.
Hype Brazil announced that the two UFC featherweights will face each other in a submission-only grappling match at the promotion’s March 11 event in Rio de Janeiro.
The matchup serves as a rematch of sorts, after Silva defeated Mitchell under MMA rules at UFC 314 in 2025, finishing the fight in the second round with a ninja choke.
The grappling bout will be part of a card that also includes former “BMF” champion Jorge Masvidal competing in a submission-only match against UFC middleweight Shara “Bullet” Magomedov.
The event originally planned to feature Arman Tsarukyan as well, but that appearance was canceled after a potential grudge match with Georgio Poullas fell through.
Tsarukyan and Poullas are now expected to meet again under the Real American Freestyle banner following their recent wrestling match that ended in a chaotic post-fight brawl.
The rivalry between Silva and Mitchell has already produced several memorable moments outside the cage.
Ahead of their first fight, Mitchell – known for his outspoken and spiritual beliefs – claimed that Silva had sent “legions of demons” to haunt his dreams.
Silva responded publicly on social media:
Bryce, two things, these are not demons, it’s just you being afraid to face me and second about the beautiful women you have a hormone called testosterone and you probably have problems with it.
