You have to be careful not just who you train with – but also how they train with you at the present moment.
Because, no matter how good of a training partner they may be, it could be the case that they’re not being careful.

Which is exactly what happened to Jay Rodriguez, while he was rolling with Craig Jones.
He share what happened one time when they rolled:

Craig is absolutely terrible [as a training partner].
People call ME a spaz- he popped my arm!

My arm cracks every morning because of this guy.

Rodriguez explained what happened:

I had him in a fully locked Side Triangle…

I’ve got proper finishing mechanics – you have it locked up, you reach for the arm that is trapped, you grab that tricep and pull it across to help finish the choke.

I go to do that, I start pulling to finish the choke – he locks up a Kimura and then just pops my arm.
Just one big “pop”. And I was like, nice…
