Jacob Rodriguez Promoted To BJJ Brown Belt By His Brother Nicky Rodriguez

Jacob Rodriguez has just earned his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt, awarded by his older brother Nicky Rodriguez.

The promotion comes on the heels of Jacob’s best career performance to date, after securing a silver medal in the under 88kg division at ADCC 2024.
His run, which included three wins against some of the top grapplers in the world – culminated in an unforgettable final match where he gave reigning champion Giancarlo Bodoni a tough challenge, despite not taking home the win.

Like his older brother, Jacob transitioned to no-gi grappling after spending his early years wrestling.
The Rodriguez brothers’ paths in grappling have been strikingly similar, with Jacob receiving his blue belt in rapid fashion, much like Nicky.

After only about seven months of training, Jacob earned his blue belt and soon after, he won the ADCC Trials.

In the years since, Jacob has solidified his reputation as one of the most exciting young athletes in no-gi grappling, picking up numerous impressive wins along the way.

However, ADCC 2024 was a breakthrough moment for him, with his silver medal at 88kg placing him among the most successful competitors from the B-Team Jiu-Jitsu squad.
