BJJ and Judo black belt Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza is a big admirer of UFC’s women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. Both of them share their love for Judo.
Jacare has really improved his striking in the past few years. His Jiu-Jitsu is at a world champion level and his judo inspired takedowns are at the highest level.
According to au.ibtimes.com, taking inspiration from Rousey, Jacare plans to use his judo more in MMA:
“The top judo fighters around the world have regularly trained so hard that they set an example for MMA fighters”, Souza said. “Ronda has taken it to another degree. She shows by the way she performs in the Octagon that other fighters can use judo successfully in their strategy”.
“Jacare relays the undefeated women’s champ has motivated him to use more judo techniques in MMA as it gives him an additional weapon to compete at the highest level.”
