Gordon Ryan Reveals He Expected Nicky Rod To Stay Loyal: “He Never Said Thank You”

In a recent interview on Jake Shields’ podcast, Gordon Ryan discussed the split of his former team…
Sharing that he was disappointed in the actions of his former teammates who left to form the B-Team – especially Nicky Rodriguez.

Ryan explained how he had played a significant role in helping Rodriguez develop his career, going beyond just training:

I messaged Nicky Rod, I’m like: “Hey, you know, I don’t have a problem with you. I helped build your career and I think you should show some loyalty and stay with us.

If you’re a serious athlete and you want to be the best in the world, you should train under John [Danaher].”

One of the major sources of frustration for Ryan was Rodriguez’s lack of response to this message:

He’s such a coward, he never even responded to my message.
He never said thank you, never said anything. I just don’t respect that.

My loyalty is always going to be to you (i.e. Danaher and his team) guys, because you were the guys who helped me get to where I am now.
