Gabi Garcia MMA Debut to be against 42 year old & 60kg Japanese Fighter

 

Nine times World BJJ champion Gabi Garcia is set to make her much awaited MMA debut for Chinese-based, Japanese-managed, promotion Real Fight Championship , in Japan on December 23, 2014 at the Ariake Coliseum. in Tokyo, Japan.

Real Fight has hosted three shows so far, all in China.

According the Brazilian MMA website damadeferromma.com, Garcia will face the experienced Megumi Yabushida. The Japanese fighter is 42 years old has 41 MMA fights, 19 victories and suffered 22 defeats. She has faced known figherst such as Rin Nakai, Sarah Kaufman, Shayna Baszler and Marloes Coenen .

This will be a major mismatch as Gabi Garcia weighs in at around 100 kgs whereas her Japanese opponent is just under 60kgs.

Gabi has been train her muay thai with Pedro Rizzo and Boxing with Washington Silva.

She has revealed in a recent interview her fear of trading punches:

“The training is grueling, but I’m loving it. I thought I was super tough, but taking punch in the face is not easy. I want to give my congratulations to MMA fighters. I was really scared in my first sparring. Taking a beating to the face is hard. I thought that it was easy and now I’m seeing that it is very difficult. I do not know how will I perfprm in MMA, but it will be a great challenge.”
Three other Jiu-Jitsu champions will also be fighting on the card: Kron Gracie to make his MMA debut, and  brothers Marcos and Roberto ‘Satoshi’ Souza. Marcos will face Kenta Takagi for the Welterweight belt. Roberto Satoshi will also be on the card and will face Jeong Doo-Jae.
