Frank Mir To Face Chael Sonnen in ADCC 2017 Superfight

Last month ADCC Finland lost one of the most hyped superfights.
Due to injury American Top Team leader Ricardo Liborio had to drop out of his grappling superfight with Bellator light heavyweight Chael Sonnen.

Liborio reportedly suffered a knee injury in training and was told he’ll be unable to recover in time.

The 2017 edition of Abu Dhabi Combat Club Submission Wrestling World Championship will take place at the Espoo Metro Areena in Espoo, Finland, between Sept. 22 and Sept. 24.

ADCC has now found a big name replacement with former UFC Champion Frank Mir in to challenge Sonnen.

Frank Mir is a BJJ black belt with a very high level submission game. He has submitted Minotauro Nogueira, Brock Lesnar, Tim Sylvia and BJJ world champion Roberto Traven. Mir walks around 260 lbs whereas Sonnen competes usually at 205lbs.

On the other hand Sonnen has plenty of experience. Former wrestler and UFC fighter is more than ready to take on the challenge and stake his claim for the ADCC title.
Sonnen comes out of Team Quest and has a diverse background with plenty of Greco-Roman competitions behind.
He is also a purple belt in BJJ.
