MMA fights are stopped and interrupted for all sorts of reasons, but never because of an insect… Or are they?
Well, the CFFC 99 event last weekend saw a match between the UFC veteran Nah-Shon Burrel and Khetag Pliev – and one uninvited guest as well.
FLYING INSECT INTERRUPTS MMA FIGHT
Pliev is best known for being the athlete who lost his finger in the middle of a fight just a couple of months ago. Thankfully though, the finger was successfully reattached and he stepped back into the octagon last Saturday, for the first time since the injury… Only to be confronted by a giant flying insect.
Namely, as the first round neared its end, Burrel suddenly threw his hands up and took a fearful step backward. The referee went on to call a pause to the match, due to the fact that a flying insect has entered the cage. See it happen on the video below:

Thankfully, the referee managed to “escort” the little creature out of the cage and the match resumed. Burrel went on to win the fight via knockout in round two.
And Nah-Shon Burrell gets the walkoff KO! #CFFC99
