Firas Zahabi Explains Why He Plans to Start TRT At 50: “I’m Not Going To Be That”

TriStar Gym head coach Firas Zahabi, best known for guiding Georges St-Pierre through his championship reign, revealed during a recent gym Q&A that he plans to begin testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) once he turns 50.

The topic surfaced while Zahabi was discussing the distinction between natural and earned greatness, and why people tend to respect those who worked hardest for what they achieved.

He used the moment to bring up his own plans around hormone therapy:

Me, one day I will go steroids. But I’m going to be open about it. I’m going to be like, hey guys, I’m 50 years old now and I’m taking steroids and this is what I’m taking.
And this is what it’s done to my performance.

I’m still pushing my natural boundaries, you know.
But at 50 years old guys, I’m going to probably be like, hey, I’m going to start TRT because I want to be young and healthy for life as long as I can.

I want to push my health as far as possible.
I’m not going to take like copious amounts. I’m not going to be like a Liver King. No, I’m not going to be that.

Zahabi, currently 46, made clear the goal behind the decision is longevity and health rather than any performance edge in competition:

I just want a healthy amount where I can still function fully healthy and live longer.

Okay, so I’m not going to be doing like a juice monkey thing.
But there is a time in life where if your testosterone drops a certain amount, you need to bring it back up.
