One of the biggest matchups in European grappling has just been confirmed: Ffion Davies will challenge Margot Ciccarelli for the bantamweight title at Polaris 34!
The main event will not only crown a champion but also mark Davies’ final appearance for the promotion before beginning a new chapter with UFC BJJ.
For Davies, the match is both competitive and deeply personal.
She has been a fixture of Polaris since making her debut at Polaris 6 in 2018, building her name on their mats before rising to international stardom.
Along the way, she captured the flyweight title in 2019 and never lost it, while also achieving historic success on the global stage – most notably winning ADCC gold in 2022, becoming the first European woman to do so.
Now, she has the chance to leave Polaris as its first-ever female double champion.
Her opponent, however, is far from a stepping stone.
Ciccarelli has steadily built herself into one of the top competitors of her generation, especially in no-gi.
While Davies does hold two prior wins over her, both came in the gi and the last was more than three years ago.
Since then, Ciccarelli has elevated her game significantly, highlighted by her triumph at the 2024 ADCC European Trials.
She also made a major impression earlier this year at Polaris’ first all-female Squads event, where she went on an incredible five-match win streak against some of North America’s best grapplers to secure her shot at the title.
That run showed not only her technical growth but also her ability to thrive in high-pressure situations – something that will be essential against Davies.
