Ffion Davies Reveals Why She Favors Gi Over No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu

Ffion Davies recently joined Rampage Jackson on his podcast to discuss her career and future aspirations.

And, well, during the chat, the ADCC world champion somewhat surprisingly revealed that she prefers gi over no-gi Jiu-Jitsu!
Here’s what she had to say:

I definitely prefer training in the gi.
There’s just so much more you can do with the grips and control.

The no-gi can get a bit slippery sometimes, but I enjoy the technical aspects of gi Jiu-Jitsu.

Davies enjoys the variety:

The transitions can be tricky, but I feel like my Judo background really helps me adapt.

I love the variety of being able to compete in the gi and no-gi.

Davies is also gearing up for the upcoming Craig Jones Invitational (CJI), which offers a hefty million-dollar prize.

So, when the topic of potentially facing male competitors like Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson was brought up, Davies responded:

That would be an incredible opportunity.
Mighty Mouse is a legend, and I’d relish the chance to test myself against him.

At the end of the day, Jiu-Jitsu is Jiu-Jitsu, regardless of gender.
