Ffion Davies has stepped in to support an upcoming women’s Jiu-Jitsu tournament by doubling the prize pool from £5,000 to £10,000.
The event, organized by clothing brand Warehouse JJ, takes place on October 18, 2025, and is open exclusively to female blue and purple belt competitors.
The original prize structure awarded £4,000 to the winner, £1,000 to second place, and £250 to third.
Thanks to Davies’ sponsorship, the payouts have been significantly increased: £8,000 for first place, £1,500 for second, and £500 for third.
With so much money on the line, the tournament — contested at under 71kg — has already attracted top talent, with several athletes even moving up in weight to compete.
Davies has long been a vocal advocate for women in the sport, and this move underscores her commitment to supporting the next generation of female grapplers.
Notably, when she won gold at ADCC 2022, her payout was less than what the winner of this event will now receive.
While ADCC corrected its pay disparity in 2024 by awarding equal prize money to male and female champions, the Warehouse JJ event highlights how progress is being made at every level — even for athletes still climbing the ranks.
