Ex-UFC Fighter Geane Herrera Passes Away After A Motorcycle Crash

Former UFC fighter Geane Herrera tragically passed away on Saturday, following a fatal motorcycle accident in Florida.

TMZ Sports reported that the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles confirmed the incident took place in Tampa at approximately 10:45 p.m. ET.

Herrera collided with the rear of another vehicle at a “very high rate of speed”, before crashing into a concrete barrier.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the other vehicle was uninjured.

Herrera’s family shared a GoFundMe link, with the following message:

Geane was full of life, always trying to live life to the fullest, he was a dedicated athlete with big dreams of making a difference and leaving his print in this world.

He was such a happy-go-lucky person that left a mark in everyone that came into his life.

The family added:

Geane leaves behind a 16 year-old son, his 3-month pregnant girlfriend, mother, father, sisters, a brother and a family that loves him and will deeply miss him.

Herrera began his professional MMA career in 2011 and joined the UFC in 2015.
His last UFC fight was in 2016, and he ended his career with a record of 9-3.
