Erberth Santos Leaves Guigo; Joins Team Ryan Gracie

Erberth Santos, was the world’s best brown belt in 2014. At black belt, he is continuing on his winning path.

After a successful first year at black belt, Erberth Santos has decided to leave his last team, Guigo Jiu Jitsu.

However, Guigo was not his first time. From white to purple belt, Erberth was under Pedro Freitas. As a purple belt, he moved to Rio de Janeiro and joined Equipe Marcio Rodrigues. He kicked off the team for bad behaviour and joined Guigo in Sao Paulo. Guigo gave Erberth his brown and also spent some time training under Team Lloyd Irvin in the US.
The partnership with Lloyd Irvin was approved by Guigo.

Yesterday, Erberth officially announced his departure from Guigo and will now train under Team Ryan Gracie.

This means that since the beginning of his BJJ career, Erberth has trained under 5 teams. That places him in the

group top team switchers, which includes Fenando Margarida, Mario Reis, Ary Farias and more..

He announced his decision on Facebook.

The choices we make today transform who we will be tomorrow. With great pleasure I come to say I defend now the Ryan Gracie Almeida JJ flag.
It’s extraordinary that in such a short time we can feel at home. I would like to thank the Almeida brothers, Caio, Gustavo, Diogo and all the team for receiving me with open arms. I am sure we will develop together. I leave here my thank you. Lets train!
