Everybody has had to start somewhere, no matter how successful they are today (or how successful they may become).
Including the most successful of people in their respective fields – such as Craig Jones in the world of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
In a recent conversation with Joe Rogan, the legendary Eddie Bravo shared a story about how he came to learn about Craig Jones when the Australian was still a purple belt…
And how he shocked everybody:
Did you know I was the first one who gave him his first opportunity?
Baret Yoshida DM’d me on Instagram and said: “Hey, there’s this purple belt named Craig Jones. He came through my gym and wrecked everybody… You should probably put him in EBI.”
Bravo was sceptical about it at first, but…
And I’m like what, Craig Jones?
But, I trust Baret Yoshida. I’m like, Baret Yoshida went out of his way to DM me…So, I put him on, Craig Jones was on EBI 11 and I put him against my guy, Nathan Orchard, as a low seat.
And he f*cking shocked everybody.
It’s not the first time that Eddie has been DM’d about an upcoming superstar:
Keith Krikorian DM’d me about Ffiona Davies.
He goes: “There’s this purple belt chick, she’s killing everybody…”And she is the champion of the world now.
