Derek Moneyberg Says You Need $75K To Roll With Him

Entrepreneur and self-proclaimed financial guru Derek Moneyberg was promoted to BJJ black belt in just 3.5 years – which has triggered quite a debate online on whether he has earned that black belt or not.

Moneyberg even issued a statement on the topic:

I’m actually going to stop funding any BJJ people after this. I’ve never met a group of people so bifurcated. I trained thousands of hours under about 40 champions and top contenders from BJJ and Most UFC. Every one that knows me well speaks to my intelligence, hard work, and character.

But the general public in this sport is extraordinarily low functioning and it’s hopeless for them to comprehend what I actually did. They can only imagine that I’ve bribed dozens of top athletes to vouch for me.

I never said I was the best fighter in the world, or anything of the sort. But I am a legit BJJ black belt. I’m also working on my second black belt in Kempo. I joke with my coaches that I will be a hell of well-rounded MMA fighter by the time I’m 50.

And now, when challenged by UFC veteran and 6th degree black belt Chris Brennan to come and roll with him, he said it would cost them $75K to do so:

It would cost me $75k to have a couple lost days of productivity to organize the travel to make that happen. I don’t think you people making nasty comments understand that my time is not like your time.

You guys go win all those competitions and collect your Chinese made trophies. I’m just a business man/investor, who took up mma as a fitness hobby.

Never said I was the best in the world or was going to be heavyweight UFC champ. I’ve already accomplished my goals, and now I’ll keep making progress on my training and make another hundred million, while you continue your weird obsessions talking bad about me.
