Craig Jones has unveiled new details about the highly anticipated Craig Jones Invitational (CJI) 2, set to take place at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas on August 30-31, 2025.
Specifically, CJI 2 will adopt a team grappling format in collaboration with Kazushi Sakuraba’s renowned Quintet organization!
This partnership brings Quintet back to the United States for the first time since 2019, and is expected to introduce an exciting new dynamic to the competition.
Jones has also confirmed that four of the eight teams have already been secured, with Team 10th Planet’s roster finalized.
B-Team will also compete but without Nicky Ryan, though additional team details have yet to be disclosed.
Additionally, CJI 2 is strategically scheduled right after the 2025 IBJJF World Master Championship, which runs from August 28-30.
So, with a large number of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitors and fans already in Las Vegas for that event, the timing is expected to boost attendance and engagement.
