Claudio Calasans Confirmed To Face Leandro Lo In Copa Podio No Gi Superfight

Copa Podio has just revealed that Claudio Calasans will be the mystery opponent of Leandro Lo Fight in theirb  No Gi superfight in its next edition, scheduled for September 8 at Tijuca Tennis Club, Rio de Janeiro.

It will be the first participation of Claudio Calasans at Copa Podio. However, the organizator’s have been looking to include in in their line up for a long time.

“Claudio Calasans is one of the toughest guys in Jiu-Jitsu today and the one that we had considered for all our editions since the first season. We always wanted to have him in Copa podio, but his schedule did not allow him and he never took the challenge lightly, showing great respect for the event and the audience. Now everything went well and his fight against the unbeaten Leandro Lo is very good. It’s beast against beast, “says Jeferson Mayca, event organizer in an interview with Tatame.

Two-time champion of the lightweight GP and current winner of the middleweight tournament, the protégé of Cicero Costha will battle to maintain his unbeaten record in the event. Of his 20 fights in the Copa Podio, he won 17 of them and tied on three occasions.

Besides The super fight, the next edition of the Cup Podium will crown a new champion of the middleweight GP. Another major attraction of the card is the duel between Diego Borges and Clark Gracie in the Challenge of Cities between Manaus and San Diego.
