Chatri Sityodtong: “Buchecha Is Going To Be A Legend In MMA”

Chatri Sityodtong, ONE Championship‘s Chairman and CEO, is convinced that Marcus “Buchecha” Almeida will become a legend in mixed martial arts (MMA).

Buchecha, one of the best-accomplished Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu athletes of all time, sports a 4-0 MMA record at ONE Championship… And it doesn’t seem like the 33 year-old is planning on stopping this winning streak anytime soon.

Sityodtong shared what he thinks of Buchecha in a recent interview:

Mark my words… Buchecha is going to be a legend before all this is said and done in the coming years.

Of course, Buchecha is a good friend of mine, he’s a good buddy, but I’m speaking objectively as a lifelong martial artist. Observing Buchecha and his growth since he’s joined ONE, his mental strength – he is the whole package and the world is his.

Watch out. Buchecha is coming! Brazil let’s go!

So what’s the key to Buchecha’s progress? It’s discipline, as he pointed out so poignantly:

I think that discipline is the key for anything in life. Not just in this sport, but anything in life.
If you don’t give yourself, like, 100% of yourself in anything that you do… You’re not going to get the results that you’re expecting.

So, I think that everything starts with this discipline. Since when you wake up, when you open up your eyes… On the bed, when you go to sleep…
So, [in] everything you have to have discipline. And it’s going to reflect at the end of the day, in your results. So, I think that’s the key.
