Chael Sonnen: ‘UFC is Trying To Put Together Fedor vs Anderson Silva’

Fedor Emelianenko is back and he’s training hard.  There are strong rumors that he will be fighting in the UFC next. He wants Werdum but may need a tune up fight first.

Chael Sonnen has been all over the media recently talking about everything from his unconfirmed superfight vs Josh Barnett in Metamoris, to Ronda Rousey to Fedor’s return.

According to the American Gangster, The UFC is trying to put together a mega fight between Fedor and Anderson Silva.

Here’s what he said on his “You’re Welcome” podcast (transcript c/o BJPenn.com)

So, you might have heard this rumor, but if you haven’t then I’ll start if for you. I can confirm that this is being tried to put together. This is happening at the UFC, but they’re trying to put a fight together Frank, 205 pounds, Fedor Emelianenko, you ready for this?, versus Anderson Silva.

In the past, Sonnen has made things up and/or strongly exaggerated, but he also has deep connections in the UFC. He for example predicted the demise of Jon Jones.

The fight would make a lot of sense and generate Pay per View buys but Fedor has said that he wanted to fight the best in the heavyweight division of the UFC.

Everyone is still waiting for Fedor’s official signing with the UFC.

Fedor officially retired from MMA in 2012. He is now 38 years old and has been working for the past 3 years with the Russian ministry and has been in charge of developing MMA in Russia.

BJJEE was able to get a hold of Fedor’s latest training pictures.
