Mackenzie Dern was supposed to compete at the ADCC’s 55kg division, but given that her match against Davies has been confirmed, that means that she had to first withdraw from competing in the ADCC.
She is a 2015 ADCC gold medalist, an IBJJF gi and no-gi champion, as well as an active competitor in the UFC.
Ffion Davies, on the other hand, lacks no titles to her name either. She has been ADCC’s returning champion and is known as one of the top-ranking female competitors of her generation – so her withdrawal from the ADCC has caused quite a ripple in the Jiu-Jitsu community.
She is also on a 15-match winning steak…
So it goes to show that her match against Dern will be nothing short of exciting!
