Bo Nickal Looking Forward To Showing Off His BJJ Improvements: “I Feel Prepared”

Bo Nickal is set to make his return at UFC 309 – aiming for his fourth consecutive win in the octagon in a bout against Scotland’s BJJ specialist, Paul Craig.

And, well, Nickal’s grappling pedigree (due to his elite wrestling background) is matched only by Craig’s submission skills; as he had finished half of his 26 professional fights by submission.

Craig’s approach often sees him successfully working off his back, pulling guard, and catching opponents in submissions when they least expect it.
It is a strategy that has proven effective in multiple UFC bouts.

In a recent conversation with Demetrious Johnson on The MightyCast, Nickal shared his excitement about facing an opponent with such a unique grappling style…
And showing off his progress in Jiu-Jitsu:

I think that I have an advantage on the feet but I also think that it would be nice to be able to show my improvements on the ground in my Jiu-Jitsu game and to be able to compete against a guy like that and just kind of challenge myself, you know.

I think that again, there’s problems that he poses and it’s definitely an unusual maybe unorthodox type of style, you don’t see many guys pulling guard anymore.

You don’t see guys throwing up Triangles and throwing up Armbars…
But I feel prepared.
