Black Belt Under Murilo Bustamante, Jonathan Ornella Commits Suicide in the Netherlands

 

 

On the 21st of November, Jonathan Ornella, a black belt under Murilo Bustamante , committed suicide in the Netherlands. The Rio de Janeiro native lived and taught Jiu-Jitsu in Barcelona, ​​Spain, but went to the neighboring country to try to make amends with his girlfriend. Failing to get back with his girlfriend, Jonathan ended up taking his own life.

He was teaching at Aranha Jiu-Jitsu in Brazil, and also fought MMA. His body has been buried in Spain and now family and friends are raising money to bring his ashes back to Brazil.

Murilo Bustamante told Tatame:

 

“Everyone was very upset with his death. He was a young man full of life, very dear to all. He was always laughing. We were surprised by this death. No one expected it. I was even planning to go visit him. He seemed to be happy, peaceful. ”
