BJJ Champion Ryan Hall To Compete In MMA This Weekend

Ryan Hall is A BJJ Black Belt under 2-time world champion Felipe Costa and representative of the Marcelo Garcia Team, the 27-year-old Virginia native is an IBJJF Mundial (world), No-Gi Mundial and European champion, and medalist at the CBJJ Brazilian National (Brasiliero) championships. He is also the owner of Fifty/50 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Arlington, Virginia.

This weekend he won’t be competing in a BJJ competition, he’ll be stepping into a mixed martial arts cage and competing in MMA.

Ryan will be fighting at the SLAMM 1  event in Montreal, Quebec on Friday night. The card will feature several fighters from the famous Tristar Gym. Ryan Hall has actually spent some time over the past year training in mixed martial arts.

This will actually be Hall’s 2nd MMA professional fight, the first being a loss to Eddie Fyvie in 2006. On Friday he will be competing against 4-5 Saskatchewan fighter Phillip Deschambeault.
